Old Orchard Beach is a popular tourist destination, famous for our sandy beach, pier, amusement park, pizza and french fries.
There are stories and history behind all these attractions, and so much more to explore as well: hidden gems such as the Pavilion and Ball Park, natural areas such as marshes and woods, events such concerts and a car show, and fun, healthy activities such as hiking or biking on the Eastern Trail. Many of our town’s attractions and activities especially appeal to children.
The Old Orchard Beach Chamber of Commerce and the third grade at Loranger Memorial School are joining forces to help show young visitors all the fun and educational things there are to see and do in Old Orchard Beach and the surrounding area. As part of the OOB Chamber of Commerce Project, third graders will help educate children about our community and its attractions. We’ll do this by exploring our town’s attractions, learning about history, resources, technology, and economics—all the factors involved in being a tourist destination—and sharing what we learn through presentation formats such physical and digital posters and ads, visitor guides, and this page, Kids Corner, a place for kids, authored by kids from OOB.
